Adem Vrij aan het IJ (loosely translated as: ‘Breathe freely around the IJ’) wants clean air for NDSM and Tuindorp Oostzaan. We are an independent neighbourhood initiative in Tuindorp Oostzaan, Kadoelen and NDSM neighbourhoods.

First of all, we focus on cleaner air in our residential areas. We want an end to the stench and air pollution from, among others, the factory of ICL Fertilizers and Bunge’s soy factory, both located in Westpoort across the IJ-channel.

We are committed to real, structural solutions, not to fake solutions that would mean to just be dumping issues elsewhere. We stand in solidarity with other neighbourhoods and do not want to burden them with this stench and air pollution.

We are independent of political parties and commercial enterprises.

Community members who get involved through Adem Vrij aan het IJ do so as a volunteer and with the aim of improving the living environment in our neighbourhoods.
